Meet the Groomer

I have been working with dogs for over twenty years. As a child, I was a 4-H member of the local dog show club and proudly took my black Labrador, Boo, through all the levels of our obedience program to finally win a ”perfect 160 Obedience score” ribbon. From that moment on, I was hooked.

Since then, I’ve participated in obedience, agility, rally obedience, assisted in evaluating therapy dogs with the Pet Partners program, and had my own dogs certified as therapy dogs. I’ve also titled multiple dogs in obedience, AKC’s trick dog program, and have trained my own service dogs. I've mentored under several fantastic groomers, and constantly strive to improve through continuing education. 

I am currently dabbling in Canine nose work, and my current service dog, Longshot, has even accompanied me to Disney World (he is particularly fond of the Little Mermaid ride. He likes the dancing seafood-er-creatures) and is a great ambassador for the Labrador breed.  I have five dogs at home; Longshot the Labrador (service dog), Gracie the Labrador (couch dweller), Tempest the Husky, (obedience project), Magenta the Labrador (future service dog and demo dog for Triad Canine Connections!), and Stormy the blue eyed mutt (teenaged hermit dog). 

I've taken many continuing education courses over the years, with plans for many more and am an avid reader of any dog training or psychology book I can get my hands on! I love to learn, and dive into everything dog. 

My life is pretty much dog, dog, dog, all the time- and I love it that way!
